David Allen RSMA

David Allen RSMA lives in Harrogate, North Yorkshire where he has his studio.

David has been a finalist in the Pastel Artist International magazine’s award for Worldwide Pastel Excellence and a winner of the Frank Herring Award at the Pastel Society. He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists where he has won the Classic Boat Magazine prize as well as the Conway Maritime Sail Award and the R.K. Burt 2013 Canson Paper Mill Prize at the Society’s annual exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London.

David is also a member of the Fylingdale Group of Artists.

David works in pastels and oils directly from nature and aims to capture the quality of light and link this to a strong design. He also completes larger work in the studio.
